Girl gang!

These leading ladies are showing us that catfights between actresses on the film sets are passé.

For an upcoming film, Anukunnadi Okati Ayinadi Okati, which was extensively shot in Goa, the four female leads — Dhanya Balakrishna, Siddhi Idnani, Tridha Choudhury and Komalee Prasad — have apparently bonded big time.

“Initially, I was a little apprehensive when I was told that the film has four girls, but later on, as the film’s shooting started, we started understanding each other,” explains Dhanya. “The film taught me how to put differences aside and move on, and I think that’s the key to the learning. We had few contrasting perceptions with regards to character portrayals, but we were sensible enough to put the film ahead of our differences and let the director to take the final call.”

For instance, at one point, the quartet was told that the film might be shelved because it went over the budget. Thanks to the collective decision of the four, however, the film got back on track.

“We decided to cut down our costs; we shared our rooms, costumes, makeup artistes, etc. We decided to complete the film come what may, and that’s when we believed that we were there for each other,” explains Siddhi. “We were also determined to dispel the myth that leading ladies can never bond together. We had a blast and partied hard during the film’s making in Goa.”

Upon asking about the film’s plotline given the posters looking as if the film has adult content, Komalee Prasad defends, saying, “At a time when women are being treated on par with men, it’s unfortunate that we are questioned. But I am proud to be part of this film.”

Meanwhile, Tridha reveals that the film shows how women can be duped if not vigilant.

“The crime angle of the story will be an eye-opener for the women on how cautious they need to be,” she explains. While the film is on the lines of Bollywood’s Veere Di Wedding, director Balu Adusumilli clarifies that Anukunnadi Okati Ayinadi Okati, which is releasing on March 6, is completely different.
