In recent times, comedians like Ali and Sunil have been successful as lead actors. Now, comedian Saptagiri has also joined the club. His latest, Saptagiri Express is still going strong in its third week. Within a short span of time, he made his mark as a comedian and then played lead in this film.
“We initially released the film in 300 screens and now, we extended it to 370 due to the huge demand,” says producer Ravi Kiran. He adds that he is happy about the collections of the film. While many initially had doubts about the film’s success, the actor personally went on a tour to promote the film in both the Telugu states. “I was surprised by the large turnout in the theatres, almost like it was a star film,” says Ravi Kiran, who released the film on his own, though he was offered a good price from distributors. According to a source, the film has collected '10 crore till now, while the budget of the film was around Rs 6 crore.
