The song Nee Sontham from Guntur Talkies starring Rashmi Gautam has been viral on Youtube even a year after release with over three crore views so far! The actress is said to be the main attraction in the song with many comparing her to Sunny Leone.
Rashmi reflects, “It’s like a demand and supply chain, as people are watching and adding to its viewership. It’s not a vulgar song, but it’s made sensuously. There are many vulgar videos on Youtube and my song got more views because it’s shot differently.”
She adds that the song is part of a film and everyone has to look at the overall film. “It was part of a film and choreographed by director Praveen Sattaru himself. I watched the film at a multiplex and found people enjoying the adult comedy. The society has changed and such films are accepted now,” she states. She has been flooded with messages on Twitter comparing her to Sunny Leone. “People feel that anybody who gets a sensual song becomes popular. If that is so, then anybody can become popular! For anyone who becomes a sex symbol, we didn’t choose to. Moral policing Sunny or me is ridiculous. Sometimes people talk derogatorily,” she says, adding, “Sunny made a mark for herself and doesn’t depend on anyone in a male-dominated industry.” Talking about her next, Rashmi says, “I am working on a film with Nandu. I am being offered horror films but I am personally bored of them.”
