With Amy Jackson opting out of all four South Indian remakes of Queen in order to clear her dates for the superhero TV series Supergirl in which she’ll play Saturn Girl, the makers have quickly found a replacement. Popular TV host Shibani Dandekar has now been roped in instead of Amy to reprise the role of Lisa Haydon in the Telugu and Malayalam remakes.
Interestingly, Amy cited “creative differences” as the reason for her exit alongside the schedule overlap. “While the makers do respect her decision to work on Supergirl, they are not happy that she cited creative differences. She hasn’t even met the directors who are working on the remakes,” shares a source close to the production team.
Meanwhile, the makers decided to look for a replacement and chose Shibani while Elli Avram has been roped in for the Tamil and Kannada remakes. “Shibani is a familiar face to the audiences with her presence on TV, especially as a cricket host. She is definitely a value addition. Also, both Elli and she would add freshness to the screen. They’ll be joining the present schedule in France, where shooting will soon begin,” adds the source.
