Producers' fight turns ugly!

Alarmed at the ongoing row between producers Bellamkonda Suresh and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore.

The spat between producers Bellamkonda Suresh and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore just got worse. The news doing the rounds now is that Bellamkonda Suresh allegedly threatened Sravanthi Ravi Kishore that he had a hard copy of Vunnadi Okate Zindagi and that he would upload it on the Internet prior to its release. Although both of them have denied any differences, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has called for a meeting to discuss the whole episode.

According to a source, producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore complained to the TFCC that Bellamkonda had acquired a hard copy of his film and that he told Kishore that he could get any film’s hard copy, even a big film like Rajinikanth’s 2.0. The industry is shocked to hear this as such a practice poses a threat to the entire film industry. On Friday, the truth will be verified — whether Bellamkonda actually got the hard disc or he threatened to show a small part of the film.

“It is true that both these producers have had differences from a long time, but the way they settled the issue is not good and the industry is serious about it,” says an Executive Member, who is participating in the meeting on Friday. He also confirmed that he got a message saying that the meeting is about this issue. Gemini Kiran, President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, also confirmed the meeting. “Yes, we are meeting on Friday and I can tell you what we discussed only after the meeting is over,” says Kiran.

Producers Bellamkonda and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore have also been asked to attend. Reports say that the difference of opinion rose after actor Ram Pothineni (Ravi Kishore’s nephew), who was supposed to pay Rs 1.25 crore to Bellamkonda, didn’t pay up the amount since the last few years. So, Bellamkonda tried different ways to get his money back and finally resorted to getting a hard copy of his film.
