Khakhi is an intelligent film: Karthi
Actor Karthi is known to the Telugu audience as a few of his Tamil films, which have been dubbed into Telugu, have been successful. He even did a Telugu film Oopiri, co-starring Nagarjuna. Now, the actor’s film Khakhee is all set to release on November 17.
“This is my second film as a cop but I have tried a different portrayal this time,” says Karthi. Produced by Umesh and Subhash Gupta, the music of the film was released on Thursday in Hyderabad. “When I decided to do this film, I met many police officers as the story is based on a big dacoity that happened between 1995 to 2005,” says Karthi, while acknowledging that he learnt a lot about the police force.
“After my research, I came to know that a police officer has a lot of restrictions outside and in his department too. I went to the DSP training centre and saw that an officer gets only two hours of sleep! With all those inputs and inspiration, I did this film,” he says.
Talking about his co-star, Rakul Preet Singh, Karthi says, “For my earlier film, I did a lot of research on pilots, so I know how discipline and patriotism runs in military families. Rakul, who also comes from a military family, is a very disciplined and professional actress. You can see a different Rakul in this film.” The actor adds that this film is a big one for him. “We shot nearly 60 days at the Indo-Pakistan border. I will be thrilled to see this film in theatres,” he concludes.
