Vaitla's Mister woes continue
It looks like things aren’t going great for director Srinu Vaitla. Apparently, the producers of his last release Mister, Tagore Madhu and Nallamalupu Bujji have moved the producers’ council against him.
Notably, the film starring Varun Tej, Lavanya Tripathi and Hebah Patel wasn’t received well at the box office. Sources reveal, “The producers incurred huge losses with the film. And as a compensatory move, asked Vaitla to either return a partial amount of the remuneration he had taken for the film or work on another film without remuneration, as was agreed earlier. With Vaitla not responding in the positive, they decided to take action.”
It is also believed that the two producers will take a legal course of action if things don’t work out in the present situation. “Addition of last minute songs, extending the budget and several other issues have been cited as the reason for taking this step,” shares a source, adding, “If there’s no proper response, they are considering moving the court.”
Interestingly, in the past, the director had delivered blockbusters like Dookudu and Baadshah with big stars. However, the director has seen a spate of flops in recent times. A source reveals that Srinu has vacated his new house recently. “After he shifted to a new house, he has seen many flops, and so he had to move out,” reveals a source. — SK
