Actor Sharwanand recently revealed that the director of blockbuster film Arjun Reddy had first approached him for the lead role. “Sandeep narrated the story to me first. Actually he wanted to produce the film, but I felt that it was a big responsibility for him, so I sent him to a few producers. But they felt that it was a risky project and that’s how I couldn’t do it. I felt bad that I couldn’t do the project, but now, after the film has become a huge hit, I feel that Vijay was the right actor for it,” says Sharwanand.
Notably, the actor’s latest film, Mahanubhavudu, which released on Dasara, is doing very well at the box office. Sharwanand applauds his director, Maruthi, for the success of the romantic-comedy. “Full credit to Maruthi. When he wrote the story, he had an idea about the character. So I just followed his instructions and did the role. Though the OCD problem is small, but the way the director turns the story around is interesting,” says the actor.
Surprisingly, he reveals that he was not tense or stressed ahead of his film’s release even though it had some tough competition to face. “Festival holidays are always different and people come to theatres to watch films. This time all films are of different genres, so I am happy about my film’s response,” says Sharwanand.
At the pre-release event of his film, Prabhas had also commented that Sharwanand was a future superstar. “I take it as a blessing from Prabhas anna. I never think about the numbers or positions, but I have enjoyed my journey. I am lucky that directors approach me with good stories and they are the reason for where I stand today,” says the actor.
