While the script work for the sequel to the Nagarjuna-starring 2016-hit Soggade Chinni Nayana, is in full swing, we have an interesting update. Monal Gajjar has been cast in a significant role in the fantasy drama, which is being directed by Kalyan Krishna. The Bigg Boss 4 contestant has been roped in for her bubbly looks and acting skills, we’ve been told.
We’ve also heard from the director that Monal was a unanimous choice for the part. While Nagarjuna plays a double role in the film (of both the father and son), Monal is paired opposite the older Nag.
“One of the reasons we cast Monal is because she’s a natural. We’ve seen her earlier films too and she’s a performer and we thought her onscreen chemistry with Nagarjuna would be great. When we approached her for the part, she was more than willing to come on board,” says Kalyan Krishna.
Naga Chaitanya (Nagarjuna’s son) will also feature in the film in a significant role, although everything about his role is yet under wraps. The film may go on floors this August. Nagarjuna is expected to be simultaneously shooting for this and another yet-untitled film directed by Praveen Sattaru.
