Looks like the search for the role of Y.S. Raja Reddy (the father of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy) has finally ended, with the makers of Yatra — a biopic on the late former AP chief minister finalising Jagapathi Babu (or JB as he likes to be called) for the part.

Apparently, director Mahi V. Raghav zeroed in on the actor after taking a look at the body of work that he has done in the recent past. Also, since Raja Reddy was known for his elegance, the director believed that JB would do complete justice to the role.

A source in the know reveals, “When Mahi approached Jagapathi Babu to play the role of Raja Reddy and gave the actor a narration, the latter liked it. After his powerful portrayal in the recently released Rangasthalam got a thunderous applause, Mahi thought JB fits the part best.”

Shooting of the film has already commenced with Mammooty playing the role of Rajasekhar Reddy.
