Filmmaker Tharun Bhascker’s much-awaited Ee Nagaraniki Emayindi has already managed to create a buzz with its title. The film is said to be a comedy based on four friends who explore the world of short filmmaking as they indulge in alcohol and other vices typical of youngsters.
“It is a coming-of-age film about four youngsters who are short filmmakers. Their journey has been portrayed realistically,” says the director, adding, “Alcohol is an important element because I wanted the story to be as honest as possible. Bars and pubs are the places you meet different people these days.”
Ask him whether he feels the pressure to deliver after Pelli Choopulu, and he replies, “There were some expectations, but I did not allow such thoughts to affect me. I remained focused on the script, and I am confident that it will strike a chord.” The film has been bankrolled by Suresh Babu.
