No resemblance to Taken: Ram Gopal Varma on his next film Officer

After casting Nagarjuna in his directorial debut 29 years ago, Ram Gopal Varma is now directing the actor in his next film titled Officer. Notably, the 58-year-old actor will also be seen in a cop avatar after a long time.

However, it is now being said that RGV’s film is inspired by actor Liam Neeson’s French action thriller series, Taken. But RGV has completely denied the news saying that his film doesn’t resemble Taken even remotely.

“Yes, Nagarjuna is a cop and he has a daughter in the film; except these details there is no resemblance to Taken,” says the director, who has also produced the film.

The shooting of Officer is now complete and the film is in its post-production phase. With the flick set to release on May 25, one hopes that this hit duo of 1989 bring back the magic they had brought about back then.
