Never keep fans in mind, says Ram Charan

Notably, the role of Chitti Babu was a complete departure from the run-of-the-mill characters that most scripts these days offer.

Ram Charan is a happy bloke as his latest film Rangasthalam has garnered praises from far and wide with his intense performance as Chitti Babu being especially praised.

Notably, the role of Chitti Babu was a complete departure from the run-of-the-mill characters that most scripts these days offer. The period film showcased Ram Charan in a de-glamourised avatar and as a partially deaf villager — a role which most actors would decline fearing their fans’ reactions. But Ram Charan is not one to follow the crowd.

He says he never thinks about his fans while signing films. “Many people keep asking me this, but I I want to say that I never think about it. I sit with the director in a room and if I like the subject, I just go ahead with it and I never keep my fans in my mind — whether they like it or not. When I genuinely feel that it is a good script I go ahead with the movie, and my fans and my parents always feel proud of my choices,” shares the actor. He also thanks director Sukumar for creating the wonderful character of Chitti Babu. “Everyone appreciated my performance and I am happier now because the producer is satisfied that he has earned good money from the film. The industry needed a good hit at this time and in the coming days, there are a few big films. I hope those films too do well commercially,” says Charan.
