South divas promote gal power

Vijay, Suriya and Mahesh Babu were among the favourties named by the gorgeous ladies on who they thought would suit roles in Captain Marvel.

At a time when a few heroines are known to not care a fig for skipping their own movie promotions for one reason or the other, here are four divas of south cinema — Tamannah, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Agarwal, and Samantha Akkineni — who were all there in the city to promote the south dubbed version of Hollywood first female superhero film Captain Marvel. The film’s release will be on International Women’s Day on March 8, considering which the promo events was titled as “Her In Every Hero.”

The four ladies who dazzled in custom-made outfits were quizzed on which hero from the South would suit the Marvel characters the most. Samantha and Kajal Agarwal were of the opinion that actor Vijay would look perfect for the role of Iron Man as he has swag and a sense of humour. Rakul Preet Singh proposed Suriya. Tamannaah stated that Mahesh Babu would look outstanding as Thor and Kajal Aggarwal said Ajith Kumar is tailor made for Thor the Demi God. All the ladies proposed Suriya for the role of Captain America.

The foursome in tandem pronounced the name ‘Baahubali’, when queried about which Indian Super Hero they would like to send to Hollywood. Keeping up with the present happenings in the country, they were also quick to respond when asked what would be their mission if they woke up as ‘Captain Marvel’ one day. Rakul Preet Singh said, “Obviously, it would be nailing terrorist at a single go.” Tammu said, “Growing up as everyone, we all wanted world peace and this is not just about me, but for everyone, peace is the great need.”

They also took to social media to share their photos that featured only half their faces with the other half given over to Brie Larson aka Captain Marvel. The message to all women was – “There is a her in every hero.”
