After starring in all the South Indian languages, Amala Paul is now eyeing Bollywood. The actress will soon make her Hindi debut opposite Arjun Rampal in a breezy entertainer. Sources say that the Iddarammayilatho star has been roped in as the leading lady in a Hindi film to be directed by Naresh Malhotra.
Despite being a reputed actress in the South, Amala had to go through the regular audition process before eventually bagging the role. Apparently, her looks and her performances clinched the deal for her.
The filmmakers were looking for a South actress who had the charm and could carry off challenging roles and believed that Amala could pull off the role with elan.
A source close to the unit reveals, “The filmmakers went through Amala’s body of work. They wanted her to undergo a makeover for the film, and the actress was convinced after reading the script. The other modalities are being worked out.”
