Salaar Day 12 Collections: Prabhas Movie Storms Box Office

Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's action-packed thriller "Salaar" continues to dominate the box office, making waves with its impressive performance. The film enjoyed a blockbuster second Monday, earning Rs 16.6 crore, a remarkable 9.93% increase from Sunday's collection of Rs 15.1 crore during the extended New Year's weekend.

However, as the week commenced and audiences returned to their routines on Tuesday, Salaar witnessed a noticeable dip in its box office collection. The film earned approximately Rs 7.50 crore on its second Tuesday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Despite the drop, Salaar's total domestic nett collection has reached an impressive Rs 369.37 crore.

The film's worldwide collection until Monday stood at Rs 627.19 crore, surpassing the figures of Vijay's "Leo" (Rs 605.9 crore) and Rajinikanth's "Jailer" (Rs 604.5 crore). Although Salaar trails behind SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali: The Beginning," which grossed Rs 650 crore worldwide in 2015, its phenomenal success has solidified its position as a major box office player.

While Salaar faces the inevitable slowing down of collections as the holiday period concludes, its advantage lies in the absence of major releases this week. With no competition, Salaar has the opportunity to continue adding to its already impressive collection.

Prabhas, who faced setbacks with his previous films "Radhe Shyam," "Saaho," and "Adipurush," expressed his gratitude for Salaar's success. In a statement to ANI, he said, "I am deeply grateful and humbled by the immense love and support given by the audience. Witnessing Salaar’s fantastic run at the box office has been nothing but an incredible reward for me and my entire team."

"Salaar" received a mixed response upon its release, with some praising its storytelling while others criticized its intense violence. The film's success at the box office reflects a powerful comeback for Prabhas, establishing "Salaar" as a force to be reckoned with in the world of Indian cinema.
