After debuting in Malayalam, Natasha Doshi is now set to create a splash in her Telugu debut with forthcoming film Jai Simha, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Sharing her journey to showbiz, the actress says, “My mother is a Malayali and my father is a Gujju, but I was born and raised in Mumbai. Acting is my childhood fascination and I acted as a child artiste in Hindi soap operas. Later, I won Miss Talented in Miss Kerala (2010) and eventually made it to showbiz. I have already acted in a couple of Malayalam films.”
Describing how she bagged her Telugu project, Natasha recalls, “Director K.S. Ravi Kumar saw my pictures and called me for a look test, and I was soon on board.” She adds, “I play a girl who comes from abroad.”
Talking about Balakrishna, she says, “Initially, people scared me by saying that he is very strict, but he is actually easy going. He encouraged me with my Telugu lines and is inspiring to work with. Our dance number will be visually appealing. During our schedule in Kumbakonam, we even used to work out together. He used to show me his father’s (NTR) videos on his iPad on the sets.”
Interestingly, Natasha is a dentist and a trained classical dancer too. Prod her on how she’s balancing her profession and acting, and she reveals, “I have just completed my internship and will get back to dentistry later. Right now, the focus is on films and I have been constantly shooting and travelling.”
