Mahanati to be screened at IFFI
The film Mahanati has been raking in the moolah and the applause since its release. It has not only been a commercial success, but has also been appreciated nationally and internationally. Recently, the film bagged awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, in Australia. And now it has been selected to be screened in the Indian Panorama category at the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2018.
This film festival is one of the biggest ones in India and it will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28, this year. Mahanati is the only South Indian movie selected in the ‘mainstream films’ category by an internal committee of the Directorate of Film Festival (DFF).
The film is based on the life of the actress Savitri and is directed by Nag Ashwin. Swapna and Priyanka Dutt, the producers of Mahanati, are jubilant about their film being selected for the Indian panorama segment.
