An upcoming Telugu film, Riche Gadi Pelli, has an interesting premise — the plot revolves around a destination wedding and the fallout. Director Hemraj, who has worked under top filmmakers like Shanmugam Shankar and Gautham Vasudev Menon, says he chose the plot because of its contemporariness. A group of friends go to wish a couple who opts for a destination wedding at Ooty.
“What happens there has been interestingly depicted,” he says. “I have written the story based on my real-life experience. Destination weddings are a growing phenomenon,” he says, adding that renowned cinematographer Vijay Ulaganath is also on board.
Hemraj recently recorded a soothing number for the film by ace singer Kailash Kher in Mumbai. “He is going slow on taking on new projects, but we made a special request to sing the song for us,” says the director, adding that Kailash loved the song and lyrics.
