Just as actress Shalini Pandey was making slow inroads into Tollywood, she’s found an opportunity that has thrust her into kick starting her Bollywood debut.
And it starts with none other than Ranveer Singh’s forthcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar.

Penned by debutant writer–director Divyang Thakkar, the film will be produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF). We are told that filmmakers’ were impressed with Shalini’s clinical performances in her earlier films, as also her theatre background. We’ve come to learn that the filmmakers are very specific about the expressions in the portrayal of her role, and they believed Shalini’s theatre background will come in handy.
“As Shalini started her career as a theatre artiste, she’s been a part of several plays and drama. Hence, the filmmakers felt that the actress had the required imagination for the part,” shares a source.
But that’s not all. We’ve also learnt that Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which will go on floors the next month, is the first of the three-film deal Shalini has signed with YRF. Quite the haul for Shalini, we say!
