As Rahul Haridas is set to make a comeback of sorts with Venkatapuram, which releases on May 12, we hear that the positive response to the film, from premieres for select audiences, has landed him a very interesting project.
Apparently, K Productions, who distributed Baahubali 2 in Tamil, have signed a two-film contract with him, and work on the first of the two films begins soon. Interes-tingly, the production house is also bankrolling Rana Daggubati and Regina Cassandra’s upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual, 1945.
“This is going to be Rahul’s biggest so far in terms of budget. The film has an interesting premise of an intriguing adventure drama, which hasn’t been attempted on Telugu celluloid earlier. When S.N. Rajarajan of K Productions saw Venkatapuram, he was impressed and offered Rahul a two-film contract,” reveals a source in the know.
Apparently, debut director Rangaraju and Rahul have been in touch for a long time and things eventually fell in place when the production house showed interest. When contacted, Rahul confirmed, saying, “This is an exciting film for me as it requires a major physical transformation. I will be donning three looks in the film, and I have to go for a transformation with for each look. I am undergoing a workshop too for the role.”
Sharing that the film will go on floors post June, he reveals, “The film will have extensive graphics and so, a thorough pre-production is mandatory. I also have to grow my hair and beard and work on my body. So, we should begin shooting by June or July.”...
