Rakul Preet Singh slammed on casting couch
Rakul Preet Singh has been at the receiving end of abuse from two Telugu actresses who have been lamenting over the menace of sexual harassment in the Tollywood industry. Speaking at an event to condemn the abusive language about actresses on a TV channel, Rakul Preet had reportedly said that so far none had intimidated her with sexual propositions in Tollywood. She was never asked to give sexual favours in return for work and she feels very safe and never had to worry about it.
This didn’t go down well with a few actresses in T’town. Madhavi Latha and Sri Reddy, have of late have been very vocal about the existence of the casting couch in Telugu industry. They are accusing many top filmmakers, producers and sons of producers of exploiting them in exchange for work in films. The irony is they say they never got any chances. Both of them were in no mood to buy Rakul’s story and they slammed her saying the comments of the Spyder actress come from her fear of losing out on opportunities.
Madhavi reportedly said that Rakul was lying since she was afraid of losing the big films and good roles she has got. Madhavi also added that Rakul should speak the truth in order to create awareness among aspiring actresses and stars.
Rakul is presently busy in Tamil and acting as Suriya’s pair in Selvaraghavan’s NGK, Karthi’s Jodi in an untitled movie and Sivakarthikeyan’s romantic interest in a new movie directed by Ravikumar of Netru Indru Naalai fame.
