Rashmika Mandanna has been gearing up to play a cricketer in her forthcoming film Dear Comrade, directed by Bharat Kamma. While she’s almost done with the practice, Rashmika states that preparing for the part has been a learning experience.
“This is the first time I am holding a bat and I now realise how it would be for the players to slog on the ground. My respect for the women’s cricket team has gone up. I guess the sport (cricket) also has a lot to do with mental ability. I just started to pick up the game and it’s addictive,” says Rashmika.
Not surprisingly, the actress was apprehensive when she was initially approached for the part.
“I did not have the confidence to pull it off since I was new to the game. But the director convinced me and I got confident after I started training in cricket,” shares Rashmika, who is currently juggling between the sets of her Kannada and Telugu films....
