Kruthika talks about her upcoming film Rojulu Marayi

Kruthika talks about her upcoming film Rojulu Marayi, and how she does not like to prepare for a role beforehand.

Kruthika, who played Venkatesh’s elder daughter in Drushyam, is eagerly waiting for her film Rojulu Marayi to release. This is her second film as lead actress after Vinavayya Ramayya.

“After that film I got many chances, but I was waiting for a good script,” she says.
“Actually, I didn’t want to do Rojulu Marayi when Maruthi Sir narrated the story, because he only gave the story and didn’t want to direct the film. But he told me that Murali had got awards for his serials and he would do justice to the story. Murali directed the film like an experienced person and also helped us emote well,” she adds.

Talking about her character, she says that she plays an innocent girl. “But she is strong and always smiles.” says Kruthika. Tejaswi is the other lead actress and Chetan and Parvateesam are the lead actors. Among them Chetan is making his debut with the film.

In between, Kruthika has done a Kannada film too. Though she is settled in Bengaluru, she wants to concentrate more on Tollywood.

“If I get a great script, then I will do a Kannada film. Otherwise I would like to do more Telugu films,” she says, adding that she is open to Tamil films too.
Does she do any homework before starting a film? “No, I always prefer to start shooting straightaway. It’s more spontaneous than preparing for a character,” she says, adding, “every film adds to my experience. And I don’t even think about my character once shooting is over.”

Kruthika has signed another film opposite Allari Naresh, directed by G. Nageswara Reddy. Shooting for the film has already begun.

When pointed out that actresses usually don’t shine while acting opposite a comedian, she says, “Yes, I have heard about it, but I like the story very much and it’s a B.V.S.N. Prasad production. I want to break the jinx and I am confident that from this film onwards people will change their minds.”

Kruthika is a Bharatanatyam dancer and a trained boxer. Did anyone know on the sets that she knew boxing? “No, I didn’t reveal it to anyone. Actually, I started boxing for fitness, but the trainer told me that I had the right qualities and gave me full training in boxing,” she says.
