After filmmaker Teja opted out of the NTR biopic, the question is who else would be interested in the job? Senior director K. Raghavendra Rao’s name has been doing the rounds, and the makers, too, are said to have approached him to direct the film. He has, however, not confirmed anything yet. The problem being that Raghavendra already has too much on his hands. “Recently, KRR was appointed as chairman of SVBC Channel. He has to monitor the channel’s programmes and also improve them, so he is extremely busy with it. If he directs this biopic, then there are chances that he could get criticised for doing two jobs at the same time,” says the source.
Balakrishna, who will be playing the role of NTR in the film, is requesting the senior director to at least supervise the project. “KRR has still not said anything,” says the source.
Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s name, too, is being considered, but he is busy preparing another script for Balakrishna, so it is likely that he will not agree. Now, it remains to be seen whether Balakrishna will end up directing the film himself.
