Anasuya Bharadwaj's joy knows no bounds!

Her role in director Sukumar's period flick has been commended by viewers and critics alike.

Actress Anasuya Bharadwaj is on cloud nine! After all, her character, Rangammatha, in the recently released period film Rangasthalam has received positive reviews. The role came as a big surprise for viewers on Friday as Anasuya appeared on screen in her extremely unglamorous role in the village drama.

She says, “Initially, I shared my concern with Sukumar garu and he assured me that my role was going to be the highlight. He said it was the role of a 28-year-old woman. I am happy the way the audience is receiving my role.”

Anasuya further explains, “Even now in some villages people call young women atha. Young boys also call each other babai. So in the film, the village people call me Rangammatha.”

The actress adds that director Sukumar and Charan also called her and appreciated her work.

“Sukumar sir called me and told me that he was quite confused about my character. He said that he needed a young woman to play the character. Initially, he doubted whether I could do it perfectly. But now he is very happy with my performance and I am happy too,” says Anasuya.

Notably, this film has proved to be a big break for the actress after 2016, when she stunned the audiences with her performance as ACP Jaya in Kshanam.
