Hyderabad: The Income Tax department has held simultaneous ‘surveys’ of the offices and homes of the producer and distributor of actor Balakrishna’s latest, Gautamiputra Satakarni in the city.
I-T teams searched the offices and homes of the film’s producer Y. Rajiv Reddy, director Krish and the distributor in the Nizam area, Sudhakar Reddy. An official told this newspaper that these were just ‘surveys’ and not ‘raids’. “We have verified documents and have seized a few of them related to the collections of the film,” the official said.
Mr Reddy was questioned by the income tax teams for about eight hours and has been asked to stay in touch He is the father of Telugu actor Nitin.
A source from the I-T department said the film was produced for an estimated Rs 45 crore but there was no announcement about box office earnings.
