After Mithun Chakraborthy made his debut in the Telugu film industry with Gopala Gopala (2014), it is now the turn of his son Mimoh (Mahaakshay Chakraborty) to foray into Tollywood.
Having been part of a handful of Hindi films, Mimoh will debut in a political thriller to be helmed by debutant director Madhav Kodada, who has made some short films. The yet-to-be titled film is a fictionalised version of real incidents.
Ask the director why he has picked Mimoh for the part, and he says, “I wanted to cast an actor who would give a fresh look to the role of protagonist. When I saw Mimoh’s photos I thought he could bring a new appeal to the part. And he did more than justice to the role.”
Airtel 4G girl Sasha Chettri is paired opposite Mimoh in the film, which also touches on journalism. “The film is a modern day take on several burning issues,” Madhav says. Ramana Basavaraju is producing the film, which is in the final stage of production.
