Dramatic nights

The plays, Echo, Absolution, Hangman, Getting it Back and The Date

A fine Saturday evening with five plays — that was how many from the city spent the start of their weekend. Despite the sudden downpour on Saturday, city-based theatre group, Dramanon went ahead with their play and what more? The audience refused to budge.

The plays, Echo, Absolution, Hangman, Getting it Back and The Date, all award-winning plays were staged at Lamakaan. Saurabh, the director of one of the plays, who also acted says, “All these plays convey different set of emotions.

With Echo, we show one’s love for their art, Absolution was all about finding the inner child in you, while Hangman was about a conversation between a prisoner and the hangman. We also had a slapstick comedy, so we’ve touched upon different kinds of emotions.”

Saurabh adds that despite the rain, the group staged the plays to a houseful of guests. “We were a little worried that the guests might leave, but they stood by us and watched all the plays. That just made our day.”
