The 50: Shehbaaz Badesha, Dhanashree Verma to Compete in JioHotstar-Colors TV

Dubbed to be an unconventional reality TV series, The 50 promises to do away with the conventional format that other similar shows offer.

The earlier than expected conclusion of Bigg Boss 19 in December meant that reality TV show aficionados have been eagerly awaiting the next big thing that would take over their TV screens. It appears as if Colors TV, along with JioHotstar, is all set to fill this gap with a new reality show, which would be called The 50. The recently released promo for this show has already generated a buzz on social media platforms.

Dubbed to be an unconventional reality TV series, The 50 promises to do away with the conventional format that other similar shows offer. As the title itself implies, all contestants numbering 50 will live together within the massive Mahal. It’s the lack of a conventional rulebook that truly makes this different, and this includes the lack of defined tasks, eliminations, and gameplay. They are all replaced by chaos, strategies, and survival instincts.

Speculations regarding the contestants taking part in the reality show have also added to the buzz surrounding the series. Famous individuals, including social influencer Shehbaaz Badesha, choreographer, and dancer Dhanashree Verma, are said to be in negotiations for a spot in the reality show. Despite the reality show makers not confirming the announcement, the prospects of these individuals being on the show have already impressed the audiences, wanting to witness their performance without rules.

The promo has a sense of a psychological/sociological experiment, unlike a mere competition. A gathering of 50 fiercely flamboyant personalities would mean dynamic changes in the power structure, which would keep the audience engrossed. The megaset, visual effects, and mystery in the promo are pointers towards a larger-than-life experience for both TV and OTT audiences.

By bringing 'The 50' to both Colors TV and JioHotstar, it's quite clear that they want a huge following. If reports are to be believed, this show might bring a breath of fresh air to reality TV shows in India. Until then, everyone is eagerly waiting for the announcement of contestants and launch dates that are to follow soon.
