Smriti Irani's return as Tulsi Virani in the reboot of the iconic Indian television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is well-known. The former Union Minister's serial is set to premiere on July 29, 2025, at 10:30 PM on Star Plus.
The first season was a big hit. Her per-episode salary for it was Rs 1,800 when the show first aired in 2000. It is now reportedly Rs 14 lakh per episode for the reboot.
This figure is yet to be officially confirmed by the production team. The first season had a cultural impact like only a few TV serials.
Irani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2003. She served in various capacities within the BJP, including National Secretary and National President of the BJP Mahila Morcha (women's wing).
