Anchor Lobo Sentenced to One Year in Jail

Anchor Lobo, whose real name is Mohammed Khayyum, rose to fame for his distinctive dressing style.

Besides hosting a music show on a Telugu TV channel and acting in over 100 films, he became a crowd favourite during the Bigg Boss Telugu season 5 telecast a few years ago.

He has now been sentenced to one year in jail in connection with an eight-year-old road accident case.

A district court has found him guilty for causing the deaths of two people and injuring one person. He was charged with negligent driving.

In 2018, Lobo and his team were traveling to Warangal to film a video for a TV channel. While they were returning to Hyderabad, Lobo's vehicle collided with an auto that was coming from the opposite direction in Raghunathpally. Lobo was driving the car.

He shared screen space with Megastar Chiranjeevi in Bholaa Shankar. He studied only up to Standard IX, as monetary issues faced by his family forced him to drop out of school.
