Aishwarya Sakhuja to play a boxer in Khidki

Aishwarya Sakhuja is all set to make her comeback after a brief hiatus. This time, the actress will essay the role of a boxer in the upcoming show, Khidki. The show is a collection of short stories and Aishwarya will be playing the protagonist for it’s first episode titled, Anju ki Shaadi.

In the story, a Gujarati couple have three young girls of ‘marriageable age’ and a son, out of whom Aishwarya is the eldest. The family’s struggle to get her hitched forms the crux of the story.

 

The actress is visibly excited about playing a sportswoman in the show. She says, “This is the first time I am attempting something of this sort. My character Anju is a tomboy. She loves her boxing gloves and is passionate about the sport. Anju is keen on pursuing her dream of making it big in boxing. She is committed to chasing her dreams. Her parents on the other hand, are desperate to get her married so that her sisters can follow suit.”
