Kushal Paul of Team Pritam was crowned winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa at the grand finale of the reality show held in Goa. Right from the beginning, 17-year-old Kushal’s hard work and dedication gave him an edge over the rest. The young singer would outshine his competitors week after week and finally went on to clinch the title. Contestants Sachin Kumar Valmiki and Jugpreet Bajwa were adjudged first and second runners-up, respectively.
Sharing his excitement, Kushal said, “I still can’t believe I’m holding the trophy. Each of us have worked day and night for this trophy — it’s pretty surreal. This, truly, is the best moment of my life. It’s like a dream come true. Singing is my passion and through the show I fulfilled my desire of becoming a singer. The knowledge and exposure I’ve gained from being on this show is priceless.
“The platform has given me the rare chance of performing in front of legendary singers like Asha Bhosle, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Kumar Sanu. I’m grateful for this opportunity and I want to dedicate this victory to my mentor Pritamda, my family and the audience, who voted for me.”
A proud Pritam was all praise for his protégé. “This is a moment of great pride for me as I’m a huge fan of his talent and knew he was worthy of being a winner right from the auditions. He is not just a gifted singer, but also an exceptional performer with a magnetic stage presence. He has a long way to go and I wish him all the luck.” The finale was attended by celebrities such as Kailash Kher, Sukhwinder Singh and Sairat pair Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru.
