Actress Hina Khan has warmed the hearts of viewers with her convincing portrayal of the ideal bahu Akshara in the long running show Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
However, those who work closely with the actress insist that in real life she is a shocking contrast to her on-screen persona. Sources from the production house, on conditions of anonymity, reveal, “Hina has a rather long history of tantrums. Seeing her throw her weight around is not new for anyone on the set. In fact, her former co-star Karan Mehra left the show because of her obstinate, over-the-top behaviour. He was tired of putting up with her way of functioning. It was getting increasingly difficult for him to keep adjusting his time according to her schedules.”
The source further adds, “Hina only shoots for five hours a day. So the production house is under pressure to finish all her scenes within that time frame. She refuses to do retakes; so even if the shot is riddled with mistakes the director has no choice but to continue. She is also known for her mercurial temper. The spot boys are too get scared to even knock on the door of her makeup room to call her for shots. The production house is fed up of consistently putting up with her high-handedness and have decided to cut her down to size by shifting the focus from Hina to her onscreen children, Rohan and Naira.” We tried getting in touch with the actress but she was unavailable for comment.
