Vihaan’s death in fiction series Satrangi Sasural led to actor Ravish Desai’s exit from the show. Stepping into his shoes as the new leading man is actor Rahul Sharma. He will play the character of a powerful builder’s henchman in the show, whose job is to evacuate houses and occupy land for his boss.

Rahul admits that he was caught off-guard when he received a call from the production house. The show now introduces him as the new protagonist — Bharat Bhushan Chaudhary — who blindly follows his boss, resorting to all sorts of tactics to get his task done.

Commenting on his entry, an excited Rahul says, “It is serendipity that has brought Satrangi Sasural back to me. It proves that if you are destined to be a part of something, it will happen sooner or later. I am extremely happy and excited to be a part of the show. My character is multidimensional and gives me immense scope to perform. This character will experience a rather wide range of emotions, so his graph on the show will be interesting.”

Since it’s a tapori character, the young actor took reference from Sanjay Dutt’s character in Munna Bhai MBBS and prepared for it.

“Yes, Sanjay’s character helped me a lot. I have imbibed heavily from his character but I have also added my own style and mannerisms to it. Interestingly, in my last show, I was the only male protagonist surrounded by female characters and in Satrangi Saural too, I am the only male lead,” he says.

Initially, when Ravish got the role I was extremely happy for him and now he’s happy for me too. Hope viewers will give me the same love as they’ve given to the other characters,” he adds.
