End of season AILS!

With many shows coming to an end this season, we caught up with excited yet disappointed serial watchers.

After having binge-watched an entire TV show, we all feel aimless in life until we find a new show and the cycle continues! The year 2018 saw a lot of premiers and now, it’s time to say goodbye to some legendary ones. The last episode of the final season is what a viewer dreads, and awaits equally. Three famous shows are giving its viewers the bittersweet experience this year, and nothing could be more heartbreaking. The creators of House of Cards, The Middle and The Originals have decided to end the show. A lot of youngsters who love the show are extremely disappointed, but are comforted because they can always binge watch it all over again and still love it the same!

“The ending came at a convenient time as Claire Underwood seems to take over the presidency and subsequently becomes the protagonist of the show which is a good way to freshen things up considering that Kevin Spacey would no longer be a part of the show owing to the allegations of sexual misconduct” says Nikhil Bhanu, an avid viewer of the House of Cards.

Another House of Cards buff, Charmaine Kropiunik says, “Even though I am disappointed about hearing the news, I feel like it’s alright because it might be a little too much after Kevin Spacey being replaced. I expect to see Frank Underwood taking total control even though Claire Underwood is my favourite character. The uncertainty and manipulation involved is what keeps me hooked onto the show.”

Each season of The Middle comprises of four episodes around the same themes that are Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas but every time the writers come up with funnier stories. Nirandhi Gowthaman, a fan of the show expresses her opinions, “It’s an amazing show that doesn’t really conform to other shows on American TV. There are so many shows about dysfunctional families yet this one keeps you hooked on with the wit and humour. I’m definitely bummed about the show getting over!”

Shivyoshita Sood who has been watching the spin off of The Vampire diaries from the beginning and is looking forward to the finale episode says, “I’m okay with The Originals ending and am glad that they are not stretching it to get more seasons because then it would get boring. I think that Elijah will come back to New Orleans keeping up the promise of ‘Always and Forever’ and Hope will be the one who brings them all together and finds a way for the dark magic inside them do vanish.” She says that the Michelson history and the people from the past who keep showing up on the show make it interesting and worth watching.

With brilliant plots and characters, each great show does come to an end but we can always watch the reruns and try not to miss it as much. Where there is an end, there also is a beginning so let’s hope for the inception of more great shows and a lot of binge watching!
