Sania Mirza made some interesting revelations on her Koffee with Karan debut, as her friend Farah Khan said that she would have to “hide for three months after the show airs”. Apparently, she was approached for Koffee... previously along with a young cricketer, but her dad asked her not to go on the “scandalous show”.
Host Karan Johar started the episode by asking Sania why everyone was so concerned about the length of her skirt, because he finds her “very hot” in those. “I think people were tired of talking about my backhand and forehand skills. That’s when they began speaking about it. But that was long ago when I was 18,” said Sania.
On the show Sania also spoke about the secret of her successful marriage and her plan of settling down. “We (Shoaib Malik and Sania) stay quite far from each other, that’s the secret for our happy marriage. We are travelling so much,” she said and added, “I am going to play and win some more but don’t know for how long. But I would like to have a family and settle down. I cannot have a child and play tennis.”
Sania also spoke about the “rumour” about dating Shahid. “I can’t remember, it was so long ago. It just never happened, I travel so much and it was difficult to...,” said Sania, before being cut off by Farah. Later, during the rapid fire round, Sania also ‘killed’ Shahid, as she chose to hook-up with Ranveer and marry Ranbir. Her love for Ranveer was also evident when she said that if she woke up like Deepika Padukone, she would dump Ranveer so he is available to “everyone else”.
Farah also revealed that she had approached Sania for many item songs and was promptly turned down.
Sania, who went home without the hamper, admitted to be upset and asked if the topic could go back to her being World No. 1. Before leaving Sania also invited Karan to her parties with Farah, but warned “If you go and tell people what we talk, we will not have friends”, before she signed off.
