Amitabh Bachchan inspires Shahwar Ali
Shahwar Ali is kick-starting his innings in television with Ek Maa – Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma. Shahwar will play the role of an upright character from the ’60s.
Since the show is set in the post-partition era, the actor is making sure his look does justice to the era the show is based in. And to ace the part, he has taken inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan and Kishore Kumar for his look in the show.
Shahwar says, “I want to make an impact since this is my debut show. My sidelocks and hair style are inspired by Amitabh Bachchan. Once this was sorted, I had a detailed discussion with the creators about the costumes. The idea was to bring out the authenticity of that era without being over the top. I am sporting the classic bell-bottoms, checked shirts and formal suits on the show. I have incorporated square-rimmed glasses, which Kishore da sported off-screen. These glasses are rare to find, so I specially got them from Hyderabad. I am thoroughly enjoying wearing these retro clothes.”
Talking about his character the actor further adds, “I am excited about the role since I am playing a positive character after a long time. I help the protagonist Zeenat fight for her rights. I’m sure that the audience will like the role.”
