Popular TV director Wasim Sabir passes away succumbing to brain injury
Mumbai: In a tragic turn of events, popular director of successful TV shows like ‘Veera’ and ‘Gangaa,’ Wasim Sabir, passed away on January 2. The director of such successful TV shows as ‘Tamannaah’ and ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon…Ek Baar Phir,’ succumbed to an injury he sustained on January 1.
Reportedly, the director tripped and fell while at home. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, the injuries that his brain incurred were quite severe, with Wasim finally oassing away the next day.
The director had also sustained injuries to his elbow while shooting for his show, 'Tamannaah'.
A source had told us, “During the rehearsals, the leading lady, Anuja was teaching her neighbour’s children to play cricket in the sequence. Our director was busy analyzing the shot when Anuja swung the bat missing the ball completely. It accidentally landed on Waseem sir’s elbow, which injured it badly. He had to be rushed to a doctor instantly.”
Wasim had elaborated on the incident, saying, “The doctor informed me that I fortunately got away with only a swelling. It could have been a major fracture. He has instructed me to keep doing cold ice therapy. But as the director of the show, I can’t afford to go missing for such a long time, so I am wearing a band around it and shooting. I hope it does not get any worse and heals soon.”
