I have found friends for life: Priyal Gor

Priyal Gor talks about why Chandamaama Raave will be a special film for her.

Actress Priyal Gor is a name to reckon with on Hindi television. She is associated with several superhit sitcoms. In fact, even when she spoke to us, she was busy shooting for the very popular daily soap Ichhapyaari Naagin in which she plays the female lead.

But the actress was also excited to talk about her upcoming Telugu film Chandamaama Raave, a directorial of the twin duo, Dharma-Raksha.

“I have worked with so many people in my career of seven long years but I can say this without hesitation — this was my most favourite team. By the end of the film, Dharma, Raksha, Naveen Chandra (the film’s lead actor) and I had become such good friends, I think it’s a bond we have formed for a lifetime. Come what may, we’ll keep in touch for sure,” she says.

So what’s her role like in the film? “I play Paru, a girl such immense patience. She’s willing to test a guy for seven years to be sure of his love. I don’t think I can be anything like her,” she says with a laugh.

What was the experience of working on the film? “Brilliant. Because my directors had so many inputs to give me that I didn’t have to work much on my character despite the fact that it’s a complicated role. And, the choice of locations was so tasteful; I had a blast. The time we spent in Gangtok I will cherish me forever,” she says.

Though this is Priyal’s second film after Saheba Subramanyam, one assumes the language may have been a barrier.

“Not at all. My Telugu isn’t great but I received help on that front. It is a beautiful language and I eventually want to learn it. It is not easy now since I have finished shooting the film and don’t have a lot of Telugu speaking people around me, but if I speak to any of my team members from the film, I try to use a few words so that at least I can stay in touch!” she shares.
