Don’t tell anyone. But on Saturday Nikhil Advani has begun to shoot a marathon epic series which will go on shooting for the next eight months.

This serial is the Indian adaptation of  the Israeli blockbuster series Hatufim about two battle-scarred war-weary soldiers who return home to try and adjust to civilian life. The two soldiers were played in Hatufim by Assi Cohen and  Ishai Golan.

Now in the desi adaptation of Hatufim Purab Kohli and Satyadeep Mishra have been cast as the two soldiers. Purab, last seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift returns to television after the internationally successful series Sense8.

Satyadeep , considered one of the more powerful actors on the scene, played Ranbir Kapoor’s best friend in Bombay Velvet. He was recently  seen as Radhika Apte’s best friend in Phobia.

The two actors have set aside all other commitments to work  on Nikhil Advani’s series for the next eight months. The series will be aired from October onwards on Star Plus.

Hatufim, that aired the world over from 2009 to 2013, was the source-material for the hugely successful  Channel 4 American series Homeland.
