Smaller Films Brace for Impact as 'Akhanda 2' Locks December 12 Release

The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kriti Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.

The postponement of Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 from its scheduled December 5 release, and the new plan to release it on December 12, 2025, has caused significant disruption for small films that had already locked the same date.

One among them is Sandeep Raj’s Mowgli 2025, starring Roshan Kanakala, which was originally slated for a December 12 release. With Akhanda 2 eyeing the same date, the team is now facing uncertainty and the possibility of postponement.

In the midst of the confusion, director Sandeep Raj expressed his frustration and disappointment. He wrote, “My dream of seeing the title ‘Directed by Sandeep Raj’ on the big screen is becoming harder day by day. I think SILVERSCREEN hates me.” He added, “Mowgli was made with the passion, sweat, and blood of so many dedicated people like Roshan, Saroj garu, Sakshi, Harsha, DOP Maruthi, Bhairava, and many more. I truly hope that all good things happen to Mowgli, at the very least for their sake.”

The film stars Sakshi Mhadolkar as the female lead, while Bandi Saroj Kumar plays the antagonist. He too expressed anger over the entire situation. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Kriti Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.
