Shruti Haasan Congratulates Dad Kamal Haasan on Political Role

Veteran actor and Makkal Neethi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan was recently sworn in as a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) in New Delhi, marking a significant political milestone in his career. His daughter, actress Shruti Haasan, took to social media to express her pride and love for her father.

Shruti shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, writing, "Love you and proud of you Appa. Always." She followed it up with a touching post, featuring a photo of the father-daughter duo and an emotional note.

"My dearest Appa, today marks the journey of your steps into a brave new world. Watching you take your oath in the Rajya Sabha with your signature voice echoing through the chambers with strength and gravitas was a moment forever etched in my mind. As always, I wish for you to be happy and achieve all you hope to achieve," she wrote, signing off with emojis of folded hands, a heart, and a ‘bad omen’ symbol. "Love always. always, always," she added.

The Waltair Veerayya actress flew to the national capital to witness the special moment. Kamal Haasan made his debut in the Upper House on July 25, taking oath in Tamil during the fifth day of the Monsoon Session.

Elected unopposed in June as part of the DMK-led alliance, Kamal was formally welcomed into the Rajya Sabha, where he also greeted Deputy Chairman Harivansh after the swearing-in.
