Fear, Devotion in 45 Felt Like Debut Film: Shiva Rajkumar
Featuring Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and Raj B. Shetty in pivotal roles, 45 promises a thought-provoking cinematic experience that goes beyond conventional storytelling.

The Hindi trailer of 45 has been unveiled, instantly igniting conversations among cinegoers for its layered premise and powerhouse ensemble. Originally made in Kannada, the film is all set for a wider reach with its Hindi theatrical release scheduled worldwide on 1st January. Featuring Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and Raj B. Shetty in pivotal roles, 45 promises a thought-provoking cinematic experience that goes beyond conventional storytelling.
Speaking about the film, Dr. Shiva Rajkumar shared an emotional reflection on his journey, saying, “45 is my 129th film. The same kind of fear and devotion that I had while doing my first film Anand, I had while doing this film as well. When Arjun Janya narrated this story to me, I was very surprised. I wondered how he got such a thought. 45 can mean anything — a day, a second, a minute. This is not one person’s film; it will attract and connect with everyone who watches it.” He further revealed, “While doing the climax of the film, I was in chemo. Both my role and Upendra’s role will be in our own styles. Once a director creates something, an artist must do the role properly, whatever it may be — whether it is singing a duet song or cleaning a bathroom. Only then does it get value.”
Backed by producer Ramesh Reddy under the banner of Suraj Productions, 45 marks the directorial debut of celebrated music composer Arjun Janya. Known for crafting iconic soundtracks, Janya’s shift to the director’s chair has heightened curiosity around the film. Addressing a massive gathering, superstar Upendra underlined the collaborative spirit behind the project, stating, “It has been my fortune to be part of this film. Behind the screen, there are three heroes for this film. The first hero of this film is producer Ramesh Reddy, the second is director Arjun Janya, and the third is cinematographer Sathya Hegde.”
Reflecting on legacy and fandom, Upendra added, “I am very close to Dr. Shivarajakumar and his family. This is a very good moment to remember Dr. Rajkumar, who said ‘Abhimanigale Devaru’ — Fans are Gods. It is similar to how Gnanapith Award winner Dr. Kuvempu found God in writing and Dr. Shivarama Karanth found God in nature.” Adding to the film’s growing buzz, Rishabh Shetty’s reaction to the trailer has gone viral on social media. 45 is slated for a Kannada release on 25th December, followed by its Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam releases on 1st January, setting the stage for a powerful start to the New Year.
