Shekar Master Regrets Controversial ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ Steps From Daaku Maharaj
Choreographer says he regrets creating the much-criticised dance move featuring Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela

Shekar Master is one of the most popular choreographers in the Telugu film industry, having worked on several major films and created dance moves for some of the industry's leading stars. However, some of his recent choreography has also drawn criticism for being repetitive and overly bold.
One of the biggest controversies surrounding his work was the song ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ from Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer Daaku Maharaj. The song featured Balakrishna alongside actress Urvashi Rautela, with a particular dance move becoming a major talking point on social media.
In the song, Balakrishna performs a dance move involving Urvashi Rautela's back. The step was widely criticised by viewers, with many describing it as inappropriate and uncomfortable. Urvashi Rautela had also expressed her displeasure over the controversial choreography at the time.
Now, months after the controversy, Shekar Master has opened up about the dance move. In a recent interview, the choreographer said he regrets creating that particular step for Daaku Maharaj.
Shekar Master explained that the sequence was designed keeping in mind the mass appeal and tone of the song. However, looking back, he acknowledged the criticism surrounding the move and said he would have approached it differently.
The choreographer's comments have once again brought attention to the controversy surrounding ‘Dabidi Dibidi’ and the criticism the song received following its release.
