Hat-Trick hero Shivanna most successful with back-to-back hits
For the past year, Hat-Trick hero Dr Shivarajkumar, fondly known as Shivanna, has been one of the most successful actors, with back-to-back big hits, and rarely a film or two failing at the box office.
The actor with more than 100 films to his credit, has been on a complete make over in terms of films and experimental roles, yet another highlight of his success.
From working hard for six-pack abs, to playing a historic personality like Kabira, at 50 plus, the Century Star is an inspiration to actors. His cool attitude, hard-work and dedication is a key mantra inspiring even the youngest in the industry. Bengaluru Chronicle reports on his series of “Century” films.
Tagaru
The Kaddipudi combination returns with director Duniya Suri bagging another Shivanna venture — Tagaru in which Shivanna features in another powerful role. Manvitha Harish who was impressive in Kendasampige is paired with him. Dhananjay is the surprise villain in Tagaru.
Srikanta
One of the first releases awaiting the Shivanna high, Srikanta, is directed by Manju Swaraj, of the Shravani Subramanya fame. The movie is all about the “common man.” In a daring shot, Shivanna climbed out of a cut-out poster measuring 65 feet for the film. Inspired by a short story, the directed Manju Swaraj has webbed a story around an individual with three shades. Ajneesh Loknath has scored the music and Vijay Raghavendra will also been seen with Shivanna. Malayalam actress Chandini Sreedharan makes her debut in this one.
Bangaru... S/O Bangarada Manushya
The Khushi Khushiyagi director Yogi G Raj returns to directing with Bangaru... S/o Bangarada Manushya for Shivanna. The title has been reworked with the iconic film of thespian late Dr Rajkumar’s Bangarada Manushya which had a record run at the box office. The film is being produced by the popular Jayanna-Bhogendra under their Jayanna Combines banner.
Leader
Later, Shivanna leads in Leader directed by Sahana Murthy. The film with a universal concept, has a line of actors — from Vijay Raghavendra, Yogish, Gururaj Jaggesh, Pranitha Subash and Parinitha, daughter of Srinagara Kitty and Bhavana Belegere, also making her debut. Yogish returns in a negative role, followed by Deepika Kamaiah playing the role of a journalist, and Prakash Belawadi of Airlift fame essays the role of a politician, and the popular producer Rockline Venkatesh is a cop.
Mufti
It is also the turn of Narthan’s Mufti which comes with the pairing of Ugramm fame Sriimurali. Shanvi Srivastav who scored a Masterpiece makes her debut in this SRK film.
Villain
After the ambitious Kali by director Jogi Prem went into cold storage, the director is back with Villain which marks the biggest pairing — Shivanna and Kiccha Sudeep mania.
Esuru Dange
In Kannada’s own Lagaan — The rebellion against the British rule at Esuru village in Shikaripur taluk — an exciting episode in the history of the freedom movement is touted to be among Shivanna’s next ventures. Vaibhav will be directing this patriotic film. Later, there are several more hat-tricks lined up for Sandalwood’s SRK — Baadshah, Shivalinga 2, Kadhar 2, RGV's South, My Name is Anji.
