In her first film, Raama Dhanya, she portrayed roles with three different shades including that of a mythological one — a rarity for a debutant. Nimika Ratnakar, an engineer and a model, who hails from the beautiful coastal region of Managaluru, took up acting two years ago, and now she is one of the busiest stars in Sandalwood with at least four projects in her kitty. The films are all scheduled to release in 2020 including the multistarrer Ravichandra featuring Real Star Upendra, Crazy Star Ravichandran and the pretty Shanvi Srivastava. Meanwhile, Nimika is busy wrapping up her latest titled Virgin besides her movie with Prajwal Devaraj which is yet-to-be titled and also Master with Aaditya .
The actress speaks to Bengaluru Chronicle on her movies, modelling and also on starting her own company along with her brother, an architect and more.
“I have one final schedule pending for Ravichandra. Meanwhile, I have wrapped up the shooting for the film with Prajwal, directed by Ram Narayan. The untitled project is a thriller and post that I am shooting for my Virgin alongside Darling Krishna, directed by Naidu. It is going to his debut in Sandalwood. That apart, Master with Aaditya is also expected to be released in the coming year,” says Nimika Ratnakar.
On signing Virgin, the actress shares that she was surprised when the makers first approached her with such a bold title. “ I was actually anxious to know about the script and by the time the director narrated it, I was so excited as it is one of the cutest projects with so much fun and romance involved in it. Yes, catchy titles are quite an important aspect too, which draws the attention of the audience.
This one justifies the script and more over the present generation audience are too smart and cannot be fooled so easily,” she explains.
While Nimika had no release this year, she is happy that all her work will be released in 2020. “ I will be a star next year with almost all my movies up for release,” she smiles.
Moreover, the actress who has been in the industry for two years, has also been juggling between acting and modelling. “Initially, acting was new for me but after gaining a little bit of experience, I have started to understand how this industry functions and have also improved my language. Recently, I made it to cover of an International magazine as a model. I have started to model and walk the ramp as well along with movies,” she adds.
As she signs off, Nimika wraps up by saying that she has also started a company of her own along with her brother, an architect who stays in Milan. It is about outsourcing architectural services and so on, and in addition to it, she even has a portal running on custom-made european design furniture....
