Bengaluru: A person claiming to be a Chennai-based businessman named Janardhan, has alleged that he was cheated by a Sandalwood actress Meghana Raj in Bengaluru over their marriage. An e-mail complaint was shot off to the city Police Commissioner N.S. Megharikh by Janardhan alleging that Meghana Raj had married him and later procured all the marriage documents and dumped him. In his complaint, he alleged that since the actress had all the marriage documents now, she was refusing to come and live with him.
The complaint was forwarded to J.P. Nagar police, who conducted an inquiry and found that the complaint was baseless. The actress, daughter of the veteran actor Sunder Raj, told police that there was no such marriage with any person, and she added that she did not know or have seen this person. The police then concluded the complaint was bogus. Since there was no formal complaint registered against the businessman by the actress, police have not registered a case.
“It has been quite an eventful day. False allegations have been made by a person whose existence is news to me. I thank police, press and my fans who have stood by me through this. Such baseless and childish acts do not disturb me. The outcome of the investigation is quite heartening and vindicates my stand,” said Meghana Raj.
