When Sanju meets her machas?
Bored of the same old regular atthe-sose melodramas on TV? Here comes the first of its kind for a Kannada audience, a finite series with a cinematic touch on weekends. If you are wondering what ‘finite series’ are all about, then let’s refresh your memory - from popular Hollywood TV crime series 24 which featured Bollywood star Anil Kapoor, Quantico featuring Priyanka Chopra and several such similar series in the recent past. In order to attract more youth, Colors TV has come up with a fictional triangular love story Sanju Mattu Naanu, which originates from the latest Bigg Boss series, all packed with 24 episodes with a grand cinematic touch on weekends. Even as the special series hits the small screen this weekend, Bengaluru Chronicle speaks with the three love birds.
The makers of the show say that the participants of Bigg Boss Kannada – Season 4, Pratham, Bhuvan, and Sanjjanaa will rekindle their unresolved romantic equation on the show. “Piquing the curiosity of the viewers until the very finale of Bigg Boss Kannada, Pratham’s proclamation of love for Sanjjanaa was met with a mysterious unresponsiveness. Reigniting that flame, Sanju Mattu Naanu, will bring the three hearts at the crossroad of their feelings and decisions,” says Parameshwar Gundkal of Colors Kannada.
The beautiful Sanjjanaa, around whom the story revolves, says that she is excited to be a part of Sanju Mattu Nanu. “Firstly, I am thrilled because the show has my name in the title. It is a unique series which is being picturised on a grand scale at par with any high-budget film. Each and every frame is being shot carefully. I play myself, where I initially fall in love with Bhuvan and then there is another interesting character played by Pratham. However, the story has nothing to do with the rumours which were spread during our days in Bigg Boss,” says Sanjjanaa.
The actress who has signed the movie titled Nanna Premi alongside Niranjan Deshpande, also adds that the climax of this series has been well-guarded and she has no clue about who she will finally end up marrying.
Pratham, who shot to instant fame with his unique mannerisms in Bigg Boss, and finally emerged winner, reveals that he had initially rejected the idea of the series due to his differences with the actress. “I have been maintaining ever since I participated in the reality show that my main motto has always and will always be to entertain the audience. Here, in this special series, I will get to showcase the real me, and the audience will get to see a different Pratham. I am thankful to Parameshwar Gundkul from the channel who convinced me to be a part of this first of its kind venture on TV,” says Pratham, who is presently busy with four Kannada films and also directing a couple of other films.
Finally, the handsome man from Coorg, Bhuvan feels that this series will attract a younger audience. “This is as good as any well-made movie. It has no melodrama or repeated expressions. It is very realistic. In fact, it is more realistic than the usual films. It will have songs, dance, romance, comedy with a huge support cast. It is time for the younger audience to demand the remote for personal entertainment on weekends. We have been travelling to some good locations in and around Bengaluru, also a portion of my part is being shot in Coorg,” says Bhuvan, who will join the shoot of film Randhava which is being directed by Sunil Acharya after this special series.
